Valdemar Lethin Profile
Valdemar Lethin was born 1978 in Upplands Vasby, Sweden. He started drawing and painting at the age of four. He knew from an early age where his talent lay and that he would make a career as a figurative painter. While he found “modern art” of little interest, early encounters with the work of characters such as Hieronymus Bosch and Salvador Dali inspired him. In figurative art he found a world and a visual language where and with which he could express himself.
Time spent at art schools in Sweden proved to be largely fruitless. In 2002 he was accepted at The Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. There he acquired technical knowledge he had long been dreaming of.
An artistic and at times, uneven career took off. He currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
Valdemar strives for honest simplicity.
“It’s all about concentration and presence for the artist. It’s all about accepting how one thing relates to another. Art gains to the extent that the whole is considered.”
